"Little Shop ... Little Shop of Horrors!"
The Havre de Grace Drama Guild will present Alan Menken's musical "Little Shop of Horrors" on April 17 and 18!
Feed me Seymour!
On April 17 and 18, 2015, the Havre de Grace Drama Guild will proudly present the winner of the 1982–1983 New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical, and the Outer Critics Circle Award, the classic dark comedy “Little Shop of Horrors!”
Set in the 1960s, life on skid row is no picnic. Seymour Krelborn sees no meaning in his poor, routine life as an employee in Mushnik’s flower shop. Every day he works with the love of his life Audrey, who remains oblivious to his affection. For her part, Audrey is convinced that she could never deserve a “nice boy” like Seymour. She is stuck in a relationship with the abusive Orin Scrivello, which she thinks is payback for all her past sins. Into this setting comes a strange new plant which Seymour finds and names the “Audrey II.” People come from miles around to see this new botanical beauty. Seymour is popular and business at Mushnik’s flower shop is taking off. But before long, Seymour learns that his little Audrey II feeds off something a bit darker than ordinary plant food, and as he continues to feed it, the plant doesn’t stay little for long.
