With Bone-Chilling Temps Forecast, CCPS Makes Call For Thursday
Officials with Cecil County Public Schools report there is a change in schedule on Thursday, Jan. 31.

CECIL COUNTY, MD — Schools in Cecil County will open late on Thursday, Jan. 31. Administrators made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon.
Extremely low temperatures expected Thursday morning drove the decision to delay opening, according to officials.
Schools will open two hours late on Thursday, Jan. 31.

There's a wind chill advisory in effect for Cecil County from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday.
The National Weather Service, which issued the advisory, says wind chills are expected to be from 15 to 20 degrees below zero. Anyone who goes outside during the advisory period should wear a hat and gloves because frostbite can occur within 30 minutes.

The budget work session slated for Jan. 30 has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Feb. 6.
Due to the extreme low temperatures expected for tomorrow morning, schools will open two hours late tomorrow. Tonight's budget work session has been rescheduled for 2/6.
