Maryland Governor in Cecil County for Drug Use Roundtable
Gov. Martin O'Malley was scheduled to appear at a health roundtable in Elkton to discuss overdoses.

Drug-related deaths were on the rise last year in Maryland, and Cecil County has one of the highest rates of illicit drug use statewide, according to local health officials.
On Friday, Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley will attend a roundtable on the issue at 2:30 p.m. at the Cecil County Administration Building (200 Chesapeake Blvd.) in Elkton.
The Democratic governor will be among law enforcement and public health officials at the event, one of several planned statewide to address the increasing overdose deaths reported by the state health department.
