No More Rita's Italian Ice on Revolution Street?
The Havre de Grace location has been closed for the season.
For many people, the first day of spring means a free cup of Italian ice at Rita's.
The chain is offering free Italian ice from noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, in celebration of spring.
However, Havre de Grace residents will have to take a trip outside the city if they want to get theirs.
During the cooler months, the Havre de Grace location has had a sign up stating that it's closed for the season. Its website tells a different story—that Rita's on Revolution Street is closed for the year.
"Sorry, but we will not be opening for business this year. Please visit one of our other locations in nearby North East or Aberdeen," according to the website, which says the shop closed Sept. 22, 2013. Its phone line has been disconnected.
