Panthers Advance To Region Softball Final

Lindsey Poore's arm and the Panthers' bats drove Perryville to the Class 1A region final with a decisive win against Havre de Grace Wednesday.

Perryville defeated Havre de Grace, 7-1, in a semifinal clash at Stancill Field.

Megan Thompson, the Warriors pitcher, homered in the first inning, but Poore settled in and stifled the Havre de Grace offense the rest of the way. Perryville struck for two runs in the second, and piled on in the sixth, after Poore stunted a Warriors threat in the bottom of the fifth.

Perryville advances to face Bo Manor at 4 p.m. Friday in Perryville. The winner advances to the state semifinals.
