Perryville Under Flood Advisory Friday

The National Weather Service said Tropical Storm Andrea will drench Cecil County.

UPDATE (12:30 p.m.)—As Tropical Storm Andrea nears the coast of the mid-Atlantic, the National Weather Service warned Cecil County residents to start preparing for the heavy rain and hazardous conditions expected through late Friday evening.

flood advisory is in effect for Perryville and northeast Maryland, effective through 2 p.m. Friday. During a flood advisory, ponding and the rising of water above its banks is imminent or occurring.

Some areas could see 2 to 3 inches of rain Friday, according to NWS projections, with up to 5 inches possible.

Runoff from the rain may lead to flash floods around small streams or low-lying and coastal areas.
