Ready to Run: O'Malley Says He 'Would Make a Good President'
Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley says he is preparing for a 2016 presidential bid. But will he run if Hillary Clinton campaigns?
While Democrats across the country wait to hear if Hillary Clinton is going to run for president in 2016, Maryland Gov. Martin OβMalley is preparing for a possible presidential bid, he toldΒ The Washington Post.
OβMalley has been meeting with foreign- and domestic-policy experts privately to prepare, and told the newspaper that he would make a good president βfor these times especially.β
The governor is in his final term in the statewide office.

βTo squander this important period of preparation because of horse-race concerns and handicapping concerns is just not a very productive use of energy,β OβMalley told the Post. βRight now, Iβm going to keep doing what Iβm doing β the thought work and the preparation work.β
Sources told the newspaper that OβMalley wants to run for the White House in 2016, but probably wonβt if Clinton runs. He was the second governor in the country to support Clintonβs 2008 run for the presidential nomination.
