The Tidewater Players present "Les Miserables!"

Boublil and Schönberg's classic musical adaptation of Victor Hugo's novel is coming to the Opera House, April 24 through May 10

Thanks to the Tidewater Players, the fifth longest running show in Broadway history is coming to Havre de Grace. Les Misérables, the classic musical based upon the novel by Victor Hugo, will be presented by the Tidewater Players from April 24 through May 10.

Les Misérables tells the story of Jean Valjean, a peasant in early 19th-century France who spent nineteen years in jail after stealing a loaf of bread for his sister’s starving child. He tries to give his life a fresh start, but is relentlessly hunted by police inspector Javert for breaking his parole. As the story unfolds, Valjean and others get caught up in the revolutionary sentiment sweeping the country, but at great personal cost.

Les Misérables has been seen by over 65 million people worldwide since opening in London in 1985. The story is truly epic in scale and the music is simply glorious. For the past 30 years, no play has captured the perseverance of the human spirit as has Les Misérables.
