Few Perryville Voters Turned Out Tuesday
The amount of registered voters who participated in the 2013 election was below 10 percent.
UPDATE (7:10 p.m.)—In the 2013 municipal election in Perryville, 176 people voted.
That number included absentee ballots, of which there were seven.
There are 2,681 registered voters in Perryville, according to the Cecil County Board of Elections.

So at the end of the day, 6.54 percent of Perryville's registered voters cast their ballots on May 14.

The polls opened at 7 a.m. in Perryville and by 12:30 p.m., 71 people had cast their ballots.
Voter turnout was steady, according to those checking in citizens at the Perryville Town Hall, but they noted the race was small, with three candidates running for two seats. Last year's election included the mayoral race, which they said tended to draw more voters.
Incumbent Michelle Linkey, former town commissioner Alan Fox and veteran candidate George Hornbarger are in this year's race for commissioner. Two commissioners will be elected.
Polls are open at 515 Broad St. in Perryville until 7 p.m.
