Weather Call From Cecil County Public Schools For Jan. 29

The National Weather Service has advised a wintry mix may make travel difficult, prompting CCPS to change the schedule for Tuesday.

CECIL COUNTY, MD — Schools will open hours late on Tuesday, Jan. 29, in Cecil County. Officials announced the two-hour delay for Tuesday on Monday night.

Cecil County is under a winter weather advisory from 4 a.m. to midnight. The National Weather Service, which issued the advisory, is calling for 1 to 3 inches of snow.

Snow is expected to spread over the region Tuesday morning, mix with rain and change to rain during the afternoon before becoming all snow again Tuesday night.

"Be prepared for slippery roads and walkways," the winter weather advisory says. "The hazardous conditions could impact both the morning and evening commutes."

Cecil County Public Schools will open two hours late on Tuesday, Jan. 29. In addition, pre-K and preschool will operate on a modified schedule.
