Weather Closings In Cecil County On March 2 2018
BREAKING: With high winds in the forecast, schools are dismissing early. See a list of closings and the forecast for Cecil County.

CECIL COUNTY, MD – Public schools in Cecil County are closing early on Friday, March 2, officials announced Friday morning. After-school activities, including high school athletic practices and games, are canceled.
Administrators said was the schedule change was being implemented due to high winds in the forecast and the potential for power outages.
Here is the school dismissal schedule, according to Cecil County Public Schools.

- Elkton High School is dismissing at 11:30 a.m.
- Middle and all other high schools dismissing at noon.
- Elementary schools dismissing at 12:45 p.m.
- Morning preschool and prekindergarten will operate according to their Wednesday schedule.
- There will be no afternoon preschool or afternoon prekindergarten.
- All after-school activities are canceled.

The March 3 physical agility test for the Cecil County Sheriff's Office has been cancelled. The test has been rescheduled for March 10 at 8 a.m.
The state of Maryland is on liberal leave. Schools in Baltimore, Calvert, Carroll, Charles, Frederick, Garrett, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's counties and Baltimore City are closed on Friday.
Forecast: High Wind
A mix of rain and snow showers is in the forecast for Cecil County, which is under a high wind warning until 6 a.m. on Saturday, March 3. Northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph are in the forecast, with gusts up to 60 mph. The strongest winds are expected Friday afternoon, diminishing by late Friday evening.
Wind gusts of 52 mph were recorded at BWI, the National Weather Service advised after 7 a.m. Weather officials said gusts could reach up to 80 mph west of Interstate 95.
Thousands of power outages have been reported across the state. In Cecil County, Delmarva Power was showing fewer than five outages reported as of 10:15 a.m. on Friday.
