Weather Decision From Cecil County Public Schools For Feb. 21

CECIL COUNTY, MD — Public schools in Cecil County will open late on Thursday, Feb. 21. School officials made the announcement Wednesday night.

Cecil County Public Schools will open on a two-hour delay on Thursday, Feb. 21, officials said.

Prekindergarten and preschool will operate on the following modified schedule:

• 11 a.m.–12:50 p.m. for the morning session
• 1:50–3:30 p.m. for the afternoon session

Cecil County is under a winter storm warning until 7 p.m on Wednesday, Feb. 20, due to slippery conditions. There were 3.3 inches of snow in Elkton as of 1 p.m., according to preliminary data from the National Weather Service.

Up to 1 more inch of snow may fall by the end of the winter storm warning period, officials say.
