Weather Decision For Cecil County Public Schools On Jan 5 2018
BREAKING: Schools in Cecil County will be on a different schedule on Friday due to inclement weather.

CECIL COUNTY, MD — Public schools in Cecil County will be closed on Friday, Jan. 5. This is the second day for a weather-related closure, after the school system was also closed on Thursday, Jan. 4, due to snow.
The snow has stopped, but below-freezing temperatures and powerful wind gusts remain.
"Due to continued inclement weather and the forecast for record-low temperatures and wind chills expected tomorrow, schools will be closed for students and 10-month staff on Friday, Jan. 5," Cecil County Public Schools officials advised on Thursday.

While students have the day off, school offices will be open; according to Cecil County Public Schools, the offices will open at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 5.
A wind chill advisory takes effect from 1 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, to noon Saturday, Jan. 6, calling for temperatures that feel like zero to 15 degrees below zero.

During the advisory period, people should be sure to wear a hat and gloves, since frostbite can occur within 30 minutes if skin is exposed.
