Weather Decision from Cecil County Public Schools on Thursday, Feb. 9

CECIL COUNTY, MD — Public schools in Cecil County are closed on Thursday, Feb. 9, because of winter weather.

School offices will open as scheduled. However, school officials advised people to exercise caution during their travels.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Cecil County until 1 p.m., with 3 to 6 inches of snow expected to accumulate, according to the National Weather Service.

Statement from Cecil County Public Schools: "Due to the forecast for inclement weather, schools will be closed on Thursday, February 9th for students and 10-month staff. Offices will open on time but please use caution and be mindful of road conditions. Conditions will be monitored in the morning and any changes will be communicated as necessary."
