The Arc Baltimore Recognizes Eugene Burton

Pikesville resident Eugene Burton was recently named The Arc Baltimore's Direct Support Employee of the Year for 2015.

Pikesville resident Eugene Burton was recently named The Arc Baltimore’s Direct Support Employee of the Year for 2015.

Eugene was originally nominated for employee of the month in 2014 by an individual he supported. Eugene was very instrumental in helping that gentleman successfully meet his education, career, and life goals. Here is an excerpt from that nomination that sums up why Eugene was named “Employee of the Year” –

“Eugene is a great mentor to me and has given great advice during trouble times. Eugene has helped me with my college dreams. I have been working on getting my GED for a while. He took me to and from class. He has helped me keep up in class, use the computer and study especially in math. He helped me by telling me some tricks and tips that he learned while at school. Eugene also helps when I am in emotional trouble whether it is related to my family or work. He provides examples of how I can handle my stress and interact calmly with people. For being a mentor, a life coach and a great friend, I nominate Eugene Burton for Employee of the Month.”
