Gas Line Issue Fixed Near Pikesville: Officials
A broken utility line sparked an evacuation Friday morning near Pikesville.

PIKESVILLE, MD — An area near Pikesville was evacuated Friday morning, Baltimore County public safety officials said. The evacuation was attributed to a broken utility line.
A large, high-pressure gas line was severed in the 4400 block of Old Court Road, officials reported.
The line was located at a school under construction, according to authorities.

Public safety personnel said they were notified at 10:57 a.m. about the issue, and the area was evacuated.
By 12:15 p.m., Baltimore County fire officials said BGE stopped the leak. Authorities said the fix came much earlier than expected, and first responders were clearing the scene.
