Baltimore Mayor Visits Red Cross of Central Maryland
Rawlings-Blake drops by to thank the Red Cross volunteers and staff.

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake made a quick appearance at the , for the organization's on Saturday.
Although Rawlings-Blake did not have time to tour the shelter stations set up, she did say a few words of thanks.
"It's interesting. The 16 months that I've been mayor, you've probably been activated more times than you would care to be," she said, "but what it shows me is that when we have a disaster, when we have an emergency we know how to team together."

Rawlings-Blake also seemed confident in saying that we are ready for whatever disaster may come our way.
"We don't know what the next thing is going to be, but doing what you did today,we will be prepared whatever it is," she said.

American Red Cross emergency services director Kevin Burr thanked the mayor and her staff for supporting the organization.
"In the end the mayor is ultimately responsible for everything that happens in her city, including disaster relief," he said, "so we are a resource to her as we are to the American people."
"It's great that she takes the time to come out and makes sure that she's aware of what everybody if contributing because in the end, it's her administration that is answerable to the people."
