Every year, people in the community are so eager to hear who will be the next Spotlight entertainer and every year it just gets better and better,” said Marcy Rynd Ashpes, sponsorship chairwoman. “When you purchase tickets to Spotlight, or become a sponsor, it's like handing a child a gift that will last a lifetime.”

That's because the event raises money for the school's students, in kindergarten through grade 12, who need financial assistance.

Jan Cardin has four children who attend the school. “There is nothing more important than instilling in our children good Jewish values and providing them with a great education," she said. "That’s what Spotlight is all about—helping those who can’t afford it send their children to Beth Tfiloh.”
Beth Tfiloh is a coeducational, private school offering a college-preparatory program of secular and Judaic classes. It stresses the values and traditions of the Jewish heritage mixed with American ideals.
Education is a top priority for all Beth Tfiloh parents, today’s economy has caused some to struggle financially. That's why Beth Tfiloh’s annual Spotlight event this year is more important than ever.
“Spotlight is a win-win, an incredible opportunity for the students and a fabulous night out for us!” Ashpes said.
Jan Cardin said the event is going to be a lot of fun. "And there’s going to be a lot of energy in the room … "The Fab Four" is phenomenal—and since everyone will know the songs, there shouldn’t be anyone sitting down.
“Spotlight is supported by the whole community—the school, the synagogue, and many outside people as well. We are thrilled that so many people have already bought tickets and we are excited to see how many more will join us.”
The 2011 Spotlight Event will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Beth Tfiloh Sanctuary, and will be followed by a dessert reception for all guests.
