Cancer Survivors and Their Families Celebrate at Sinai Hospital

On the menu, barbeque, macaroni and cheese, good conversation, joy and thankfulness.

It was a celebration of life as more than 150 cancer survivors who have been treated at the Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute and their families got together for a barbeque Sinai Hospital as part of Cancer Survivors Day.

LifeBridge Health hosts an annual event to recognize their patients’ amazing journeys. Survivors and guests shared their stories of support, inspiration and, of course, good food and fun.

Doctors, nurses, technicians, social workers and many other Sinai employees were also on hand to recognize the survivors, their families and care givers who are now one big family.

In addition to barbeque with all the fixings and side dishes from Mission Barbeque, there were speakers, a DJ, giveaways and a raffle with beautiful baskets.

From the moment of diagnosis, through treatment and for the rest of their lives, everyone with a history of cancer is defined as a survivor.
