Corner Bakery Cafe Hopes to Open Tuesday

New store hopes to open if power is back.

The Corner Bakery Cafe, due to open Monday, was another victim of last Friday's surprise powerful storm.

The new neighborhood eatery tried to open at 6 a.m. Monday but the part of the Festival at Woodholme shopping center where its located—the spot formerly taken by Chicken Out—hasn't gotten full power back yet.

Employees did have the planned opening ceremony early Monday morning and tried to stay open. But company officials decided to shut down after a few hours.

A cafe spokesman said they're hoping to get all the power back and then to try and open Tuesday at 6 a.m.

The hours are scheduled to be 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 7 a.m.-8 p.m. on Sundays.
