Explore 'Authentic Human Joy'

Rebecca Hoffberger, museum founder and director, encourages area residents, and their children, to visit the most popular exhibit the museum has ever featured.
Co-curated by The Simpsons creator Matt Groenig, Hoffberger and Gary Panter of Pee Wee's Playhouse fame, the exhibit offers many reasons to laugh, including art by Patch Adams, as well as cartoons, costumes, and information on the history and science of laughter.

The exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. During the summer, it's open until 9 p.m. on Thursdays, when admission is free after 5 p.m.
"What Makes Us Smile" will be shown through Sept. 4, which is the day before Memorial Day.

Admission is $15.95 for adults; $13.95 for people age 60 and up; $9.95 for students and children. Children ages 6 and under pay no admission fee.
The museum is located at 800 Key Highway in downtown Baltimore.
