Joseph Wiley, M.D., Joins HealthCare Access Maryland's Board of Directors

Baltimore, MD – October 21, 2015 – Joseph, “Joe” Wiley, M.D., the medical director of Population Health at LifeBridge Health, is now serving as a member of the HealthCare Access Maryland Board of Directors. His term runs through June of 2019.

Becoming a board member is a natural extension of Dr. Wiley’s knowledge and passion to coordinate and manage care to improve the health and wellness of individuals who need it. These skills match the mission of HealthCare Access, which not only connects residents with public health care coverage, but also helps them navigate through the complex landscape of medical and social agencies to receive the services that they require.

Members of the HealthCare Access Maryland board are nominated by current members, and then the whole board reviews each submission. Board members come from different professional backgrounds and have various areas of expertise to share.

Dr. Wiley brings with him more than three-decades of clinical administrative and research leadership experience. As the first medical director of Population Health at LifeBridge Health, he and his team work to make sure patients receive the right level of care based on their needs. They also work to increase access to preventive care and to develop connections to community and social services.

Dr. Wiley previously served as chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at the Herman & Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai and as division chief of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology there. He continues to see patients and teaches residents and students along with his Population Health duties.
