LifeBridge Health Speakers Share Expertise at Brain Injury Association of Maryland Conference
Participants hear personal stories and learn the newest medical information regarding brain injuries from specialists.
Clinical experts from the Sandra and Malcolm Berman Brain & Spine Institute at LifeBridge Health recently took part in the “Making It Happen…Making It Count” conference sponsored by the Brain Injury Association of Maryland.
The two day meeting was designed to share the latest information on the treatments, research and services surrounding brain injuries with people recovering from them, their families and professionals. It was held at the North Baltimore Plaza Hotel in Timonium.
J. Michael Anderson, M.D., the medical director of the RECOVER program at Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, was one of the keynote speakers. He is known for his expertise in the rehabilitation of brain-injured and stroke-recovering patients. However, his life was turned upside-down in 2011 when he suffered sudden cardiac arrest and was in a coma. Dr. Anderson shared his personal story of recovery with the audience, and he and his wife, Lisa, revealed their family’s journey to help him.
