Man Shot, Injured Outside Home Near Pikesville: Police

Police said that the shooting was not a "drive-by," but that the suspect parked on a side street and made a getaway before officers arrived.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Police said a man was shot in front of his home near Pikesville Sunday evening. The victim is expected to survive.

Authorities said that the incident was not a "drive-by" shooting, and the suspect got into a vehicle parked on a side street after the shooting and drove away before police arrived.

The shooting took place in the unit block of Leafydale Court at 6:32 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, according to officials.

Based on the preliminary investigation, police said the victim was shot multiple times in the upper and lower body. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Investigators remain at the scene, officials reported after 8:45 p.m.
