Officer Shoots Knife-Wielding Man in Pikesville: Police
A man who answered the door with a knife was shot and injured overnight, Baltimore County police said.

PIKESVILLE, MD — A man was hospitalized following an officer-involved shooting in Pikesville Friday night, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
Before 11 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance call in the 4600 block of Debilen Circle, where authorities said a man answered the door holding a knife.
The man had words with the officers, then moved toward them "in a threatening manner," police said.

At that point, one officer fired his weapon and shot the man in the upper body, according to officials. The man was taken to a local hospital, where police said his condition was unknown.
The officer involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative leave, and the case will be reviewed by the state's attorney.
