The free event, expected to bring 400 to 500 people into downtown, will feature a concert by the Beatles tribute band "Fab Four," and a classic car show.

“We want people to come experience Pikesville’s shops and eateries in addition to the concert,” said Sherrie Becker, executive director for the chamber.

The concert will be on Waldron Avenue, which will be closed from Reisterstown Road to Deriso Lane, she said. Parking will be available at three places: behind the 1100 block of Reisterstown Road, in the Sherwood Avenue parking lot on Deriso Lane, and at the Pikes Diner.

“The Reich family arranged for the band and the whole event,” Becker said. “They are committed to the success of Pikesville and want to do everything to make sure it is successful. It’s a fun time and a great reason for people to come in to Pikesville."

The chamber contributed to the concert by securing the stage, she said.

The event is designed to bring people into Pikesville, Reich said. “Everyone seems to be going out of Pikesville. Even the Pikesville people go out of Pikesville, so we’re trying to get people from Reisterstown, Owings Mills, Catonsville, Randallstown and Towson to come here and try to promote not just our business, but all the businesses in Pikesville. We want people to see what we have to offer down here,” he said.

In the past, Pikesville Street Festivals, such as “Dancing in the Streets,” have featured Big Cam & The Lifters, a rock-and-roll and dance music band, and The Fabulous Hubcaps, one of the country’s most famous oldies show bands.

The Reichs' employees will be working the June 18 event.
