Second Annual Distinguished Nursing Lecture Held at Sinai

Nurses share invaluable ideas and good conversation thanks to a nursing icon.

Sinai Hospital recently hosted the 2017 Distinguished Nursing Lecture made possible through the generosity of Mary. S. Tilbury, EdD, RN, NEA-BC, a former Sinai Hospital board member and a national leader in nursing administration education.

About 165 nurses and nursing students from around the Baltimore/DC region attended the lecture and received CE credit.

The speaker was Dorrie K. Fontaine, RN, PhD, FAAN, and the topic was "Developing Resilience Through Compassionate Care: A Strategy That May Reduce Burnout.”

In addition to nurses from around the area, Dr. Jonathan Ringo, the president of Sinai, also attended the lecture and thanked Dr. Tilbury for making such a best-practices premier event possible. A reception was held after the lecture.
