Police Cancel Silver Alert For 85-Year-Old In Baltimore County

Police issued a silver alert for the missing man in Baltimore County and said he was located in Baltimore City.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — The silver alert has been canceled for a Baltimore County man who went missing in Pikesville earlier this week. Police said the 85-year-old was located unharmed on Friday, Nov. 30.

Melvin Jackson, 85, was reported missing on Wednesday, Nov. 28, according to Baltimore County police. He had last been seen in Pikesville and was believed to have been driving a truck.

After issuing an update Friday morning that his 2011 GMC Sierra had been spotted in southern Baltimore County in the last 24 hours, police delivered the happy news on Friday night that the Baltimore Police Department located Jackson.

He was unharmed and returned home safely, police said.

PREVIOUS REPORT — Police have asked for help locating a missing Baltimore County man. Authorities issued a silver alert for 85-year-old Melvin Burnell Jackson. Police said he was last seen in Pikesville.

Jackson may be driving a black 2011 GMC Sierra truck with Maryland registration 6DK9454, officials said in a statement on Thursday, Nov. 29.

Police said that he might be confused.

When last seen, Jackson was wearing a blue jacket, blue pants and black leather cap, police said.

He disappeared around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, according to WMAR.

His last known location was in the 7400 block of Rockridge Road in Pikesville, authorities report.
