Various Places Waiting for Power

Different places still hoping for power soon

One of the biggest parts of the frustration with people and places still waiting for power to return in Pikesville and anywhere else is that the whole thing is hard to figure out.

People very close to each other are faring differently in this situation. Some got power back pretty quickly while others didn't and had to go without it for awhile.

As reported in Patch the other day, the Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. opened for the first time on Monday. That business lost power until 4 a.m. Sunday before getting it back.

But several businesses in the Festival at Woodholme, which is literally about a half-block away, were still having problems as of Tuesday night and remained without power and closed.

Several on the strip on the right side of the shopping center didn't have power then.

In addition, the Grey Rock development, right down the street from Festival at Woodholme, saw power restored about 2 1/2 hours after many lost it in Friday's storm. But some parts of it remained without power Tuesday.

BGE spokesman Rob Gould -- himself a Pikesville High graduate -- said Tuesday that the biggest problem is that there's different ways needed to fix different situations. Some restorations of power are easier than others, especially when some places needed to deal with trees falling and power lines being damaged.
