• Billy Goat Trail canoe found overturned in Potomac (mymcmedia.org) — Emergency crews searched the Potomac River near Vaso Island after a hiker on Billy Goat Trail C reported an overturned canoe, prompting a swift-water rescue response close to Potomac. Officials later determined the canoe was simply abandoned, no one was missing, and no injuries were reported, but they praised the 911 call as a well-intentioned safety precaution.
