Cashmere Pop-Up Shop Eyes October Opening In MoCo (patch.com) — Potomac shoppers will soon have a new seasonal option for discounted luxury, as The Cashmere Sale pop-up opens Oct. 18 at Potomac Woods Shopping Center on Seven Locks Road. The temporary shop will offer cashmere sweaters and accessories at about half off typical retail prices, with daily hours through Dec. 13 to catch early holiday buyers.
2. Arrest In Potomac Burglary Case Linked To String Of Home Thefts (patch.com) — Potomac residents are being urged to help police after a Sept. 23 arrest on Enid Drive tied a local home break-in to a wider series of burglaries across Montgomery and Howard counties. Investigators say the suspect targeted houses where no one answered the door, and they're now asking anyone who recognizes missing jewelry in released photos to contact detectives or Crime Solvers.
3. Auto Thefts, Armed Robbery and Hate/Bias Incident Included in September 29 Crime Summary (mocoshow.com) — Police are reporting several recent crimes affecting areas that include Potomac, with an auto theft noted in the 2nd District that covers your community. Additional incidents across Montgomery County include more auto thefts, an armed robbery, a theft from a vehicle, and a hate/bias case involving an antisemitic symbol found at a high school.
4. Shorter Showers, Fewer Flushes: WSSC Water Asks 1.9 Million Customers to Conserve After Potomac Plant Outage (medicaldaily.com) — Residents served by WSSC Water, including much of the Potomac area, are being asked to limit water use to essentials after an electrical failure temporarily shut down the Potomac Water Filtration Plant. Tap water remains safe to drink, but officials urge shorter showers, fewer toilet flushes, and postponing laundry and outdoor watering until they lift the conservation request.
5. Rockville Ranks in the Top 2% of Small Cities in America According to Report (mocoshow.com) — Potomac residents can see how their community stacks up nationally in WalletHub's 2026 Best Small Cities rankings, where Potomac lands in the 73rd percentile among more than 1,300 cities. Nearby Rockville cracks the top 30 overall, with Bethesda, Gaithersburg and Olney also scoring strongly on measures like schools, safety, quality of life and affordability.
