Parkdale High School Students Learn Banking, Run Bank at School
A program offers these high school students real life experience.

Ten students will be heading to Newark, NJ for a hand-ons lesson in banking and the financial markets this summer.
The program sponsored by Capital One Bank, is a pre-college program at the New Jersey Institute of Technology from July 31 to Aug. 4.
Students will learn about banks and the financial industry beyond what they may know from their personal budgets. They will also go through a series of teller trainings and financial education classes.

The knowledge they learn from the program will be brought back to school in the fall, when they will operate a student-run Capital One Bank in their school.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about financial planning and how to use this tool to envision their future goals,” said William R. Hite, Jr., Superintendent of Prince George's County Public Schools. “In addition, students can experience working in a professional environment.”
