Pope's Flights In, Out of Joint Base Andrew to Delay School Buses
Prince George's County Public Schools parents were warned that traffic congestion could delay pick-ups and drop-offs.
Pope Francis will fly in and out of Andrews Air Force Base in Prince George’s County during his visit to the United States, which means some traffic snags for Prince George’s County Public Schools buses.
The school system sent an email blast to parents Monday reminding them the pontiff will arrive in the area Tuesday afternoon and depart on Thursday.

Parents need to know:
- There is a possibility for traffic congestion and road closures on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. School buses may be delayed at pick-up and drop-off.
- Imagine Andrews Public Charter School and Imagine Foundations at Morningside Public Charter School ONLY will dismiss two hours early on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
Parents should contact their child’s school with questions.
