Prince George's County Holds Super Spring Saturday
April 25 events include Bowie Food, Wine and Music Fest, Christmas in April, Clean Up Green Up, UMD's Maryland Day and more.

On Saturday, Prince Georgeβs County has myriad activities taking place, including the 27th annual Prince Georgeβs County βChristmas in April,β the Prince Georgeβs County Department of Public Worksβ βClean Up Green Up,β University of Marylandβs βMaryland Day,β and many more.
βIt is around this time every year that Prince Georgeβs County awakes from our long winter and our residents get out to volunteer in the thousands to improve their communities, explore family fun activities all around the County, and take part in events that demonstrate what an incredible community of neighbors we live amongst,β said County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III. βI hope that all Prince Georgians take advantage of these opportunities and join us at one of these many events throughout the day.β

- Prince Georgeβs Countyβs Christmas in April is a non-denominational volunteer organization that repairs the homes of senior citizens who are either low-income and/or physically challenged. Christmas in April culminates in a one-day repair effort; it relies on the community for support from volunteers to repair the homes, and seeks funding from businesses, corporations and individuals.
- Prince Georgeβs Countyβs Department of Public Works and Transportation has organized community organizations, schools and businesses to join in the annual countywide Spring 2015 βClean Up Green Upβ on Saturday, April 25. Residents can beautify their neighborhoods by coming together for a day of cleaning, weeding, mulching and litter removal.
- The University of Maryland will host its 17th annual βMaryland Dayβ from 10 a.m. β 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 25. The campus-wide celebration of innovation, creativity and academic excellence will offer more than 400 free events and exhibits that teach and inspire future innovators. Activities spanning the UMD campus will be divided into six neighborhoods, including AG Day Avenue, Arts Alley, Biz & Society Hill, Science & Tech Way, Sports & Rec Row, and Terp Town Center.
