Input Needed to Revitalize Community
Upper Marlboro, MD – A new sector plan for the East Riverdale and Beacon Heights area in Prince George’s County is currently underway. The Prince George’s County Planning Department of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) will hold a multi-day community workshop (charrette) March 7-10, 2016 as part of the process to develop a new sector plan for this area in the County. Join us and help to identify issues, priorities, create a roadmap for future solutions and mobilize resources for this area! Residents and stakeholders are highly encouraged to attend all events to give input on how to create a more thriving and viable community.

The proposed sector plan will guide a strategic plan of action addressing a range of issues including: land use, economic prosperity, transportation and mobility, natural and built environment, housing and neighborhoods, healthy communities, public facilities, and community heritage, culture and design.
The sector plan will be used to help determine future growth and development in the area, which is bounded by the Anacostia River Stream Valley Park and east branch of the Anacostia River to the west, Greenbelt National Park to the north, Veteran’s Parkway to the east, and the neighborhoods of Riverdale Heights, Riverdale Hills, Crestwood, Templeton Knolls, Eastpines, and Beacon Heights to the south. The area also contains two potential Purple Line stations.
