$10K Raised In Montgomery For Child Cancer Research, Treatment

Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services and Tito's Handmade Vodka raised $10K for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation in June.

MoCo: Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) and its partner, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, raised $10,000 for the national charity Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation during the month of June.

Through its partnership with Tito’s, ABS raised funds and community awareness for the nonprofit through in store displays and sales. Tito’s contributed $1 per select bottles (up to $10,000) sold throughout the month of June at ABS stores to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

“Supporting programs that benefit families and children falls in line with our commitment to public health and safety,” said ABS Director Bob Dorfman. “This is a charity doing amazing work and we are pleased to be able to help.”

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was inspired by Alexandra “Alex” Scott who was fighting cancer when she set up a lemonade stand to raise money for cancer research. When she passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million.
The $10,000 donation will fund research that brings better treatments and cures to children with cancer. The foundation also provides emotional, financial and logistical support to families with children battling cancer.

ABS is the wholesaler of alcohol in Montgomery County and operates 25 beer, wine and spirits stores. All profits generated from the sale of alcohol are transferred to the Montgomery County General Fund to pay for services that would otherwise be funded by tax dollars.
