1st Degree Murder Charges Filed In Fatal Shooting Of Rockville Man

Montgomery County Police charged two Washington, D.C. men in connection with the fatal shooting last December of Danis Alcides Salgado-Mata.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County Police arrested two Washington, D.C. teenagers this week in connection with the fatal shooting last December of 22-year-old Danis Alcides Salgado-Mata of Rockville, according to a release.

Around 3 a.m., on Dec. 19, 2021, officers responded to the 13000 block of Ashby Road in the Aspen Hill area for the report of a shooting. Police found Salgado-Mata, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body, and two other victims with gunshot wounds that were not as serious.

All three victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, but Salgado-Mata later died from his injuries, according to police.

Through their investigation, detectives identified 16-year-old Maynor Josue Bonilla-Flores and 18-year-old Cesar De-La-O-Rodriguez as suspects. Both are residents of Washington, D.C.

On Thursday, police charged Bonilla-Flores with first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first degree murder. Bonilla-Flores was already in the custody of police in connection with another incident.

Police arrested De-La-O-Rodriguez on Tuesday and transported him to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was charged with first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder, according to police
