Hay in a barn likely spontaneously combusted, sparking a blaze that destroyed vehicles and equipment, MCFRS says.

Fire crews remained at a Gaithersburg farm overnight after a barn fire destroyed the building and its contents.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services spokesman Pete Piringer said via Twitter that the fire at Babble Brook Farm, 7301 Damascus Road, was accidental.

It was reported contained about midnight, but firefighters were on the scene for more than 14 hours to watch hot spots.
