60-Year Prison Term for Rockville Metro Station Attacker
An argument in 2014 between a Silver Spring man and two victims at the Rockville Metro Station ended with two stabbings.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A Silver Spring man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison – the maximum punishment -- for stabbing two men in a 2014 fight outside the Rockville Metrorail Station.
WUSA reports Reginald Cooper, 38, was convicted in July 2015 on two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

He was sentenced Monday to 30 years in prison on each of the criminal counts, reports WTOP.
Metro Transit Police said Cooper argued with two men off Metro property Dec. 15, 2014, and the dispute continued as they walked toward Rockville Metro. The disagreement escalated to a fight at the Ride ON bus stop. During the fight, two of the men were stabbed by Cooper, police say.

Both victims were treated at a local hospital with serious injuries, authorities say. One of the men was stabbed at least twice, suffering lacerations to his liver.
The second victim was stabbed once, suffering a severe cut to his back.
