Adoptable Pets Of The Week: Lenox, Princess, Missy, Kai, Turbo

ROCKVILLE, MD — For those looking to adopt a pet, a great place to look for your new family member is at Montgomery County's adoption center. The facility houses dozens of cats, dogs, and other adorable critters. And all of them need a furever home.

Here, we've rounded up a list of five adoptable pets for a series called "Patch's Adoptable Pets of the Week." This week, we're featuring Lenox, Princess, Missy, Kai, and Turbo.

Name: *Lenox - ID#A449108
Sex, Breed: Neutered male, brindle and white American Pit Bull Terrier.
Age: Approx. 2 years and 5 months old.
Arrived at shelter: April 8, 2019

Shelter staff made the following comments about this animal: HI HI HI HI HI! I'm Lenox! I'm a young boy with a lot of energy! I really want to give you hugs and kisses and haven't quite figured out that not everyone is ready to party like I am! If you have a fun, active lifestyle that wants to include a fun, active boy, I might be the dog for you! I really like other dogs, but they might not like how enthusiastic I am. I also may be a bit much for younger children, so families with kids over 12 would be best for me. Lenox tested well with cats, but would have to be slowly introduced as he may be really interested in chasing them and trying to play with them.

Sex, Breed: Spayed female, calico and tab calico Domestic Shorthair.
Age: Approx. 3 years old.

Shelter staff made the following comments about this animal: Princess is a sweet lady who lives up to her name! This regal girl lounges around and stretches out, relaxing the day away and living the good life, just like a royal should! When Princess sees that she has visitors coming to her throne, she just can't contain her excitement. She loves to show off her beautiful coat, twirl around, then bow to greet you with a kind head-butt! Even though Princess is a royal, she doesn't need a castle. She told us that any home where she has a loving family will make her the happiest kitty in all the land!

Sex, Breed: Spayed female, brindle and white American Pit Bull Terrier.
Age: Approx. 13 years old.
Arrived at shelter: March 11, 2019

Shelter staff made the following comments about this animal: Missy has an adorable gray muzzle and a calm, couch-potato personality. She was both house-trained and crate-trained with her former owner, who had to give her up because of moving. Missy is a little uncomfortable with new people, and not a fan of kids, so would prefer a quiet home without a lot of foot-traffic. She enjoys sunbathing and really, really likes her food. (She should be on a bit of a diet to have less stress on her joints). She seems to get along with most other calm dogs (properly introduced, of course!) and mostly ignores them; she may be okay in a home with another older dog that will let her have her space :)

Age: Approx. 1 year and 8 months old.

Shelter staff made the following comments about this animal: Kai is a gorgeous, shy little girl that would love a family and home of her own. She can hide at first, but seems to do well when she has social kitty friends around. With time and patience, Kai is a friendly, social cat. Shelter staff made the following comments about this animal: Turbo's name must be ironic, because he is a definitely a chill dude! He's still a young dog and would love to play and have fun, but he's very good at having calm interactions and loves to snuggle! Turbo has tested well with other dogs and could definitely live with a doggy friend. Turbo is a friendly, easy-going boy and could live with children easily.
