MONTGOMERY CO., MD — Four ducklings were saved from a storm drain on Sunday by emergency personnel.
First responders with the Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department were alerted around 3:45 p.m. to reports of four baby ducks who had become trapped inside a drain.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer said the rescue took almost two hours and involved several crews, including animal services.
"Various tools from Aerial Tower 704 and Animal Services were utilized," read a post from the volunteer department.
It wasn't until nearly 5:30 p.m. that the ducklings were safely retrieved and reunited with their mom, Piringer said.
