Arepateca had been operating out of its brick-and-mortar site at 5751 Fishers Lane.

The restaurant is known for highlighting Venezuelan cuisine and providing a menu that included arepas and cachapas, among other dishes.

"After an incredible journey, it's time for us to close this chapter," the restaurant said in an announcement.

"When we started Arepateca, our dream was simple: to share the food we grew up with and create a place where everyone felt welcome. We never imagined just how many amazing people would walk through our doors."

"We leave with full hearts, endless gratitude, and memories that we'll carry forever."

Before its last day, Arepateca will take part in two more farmers markets this weekend.

Residents will be able to get their fill of the eatery's dishes at the Rockville Farmers Market on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The second event takes place at the Bethesda Central Farm Market on Sunday between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. See the schedule online.
