ROCKVILLE, MD — The Montgomery County Advisory Commission on Policing will hold a public forum in September for feedback on policing and public safety.

The forum, scheduled for Sept. 14 at 6:30 p.m., will be held in the Montgomery County Council's third-floor hearing room.

The commission will conduct a listening session with residents and seek their feedback and vision for public safety in the county, including the Montgomery County Police Department's Strategic Plan for 2026-2030.

Community members do not need to register in advance.

Residents who cannot attend can submit feedback through the commission's online portal.

The commission was established in 2019 amid public debate over policing practices and calls for greater community involvement in public safety.

The panel has 13 public voting members and two non-voting, ex officio members: the police chief or the chief's designee and the president of an employee organization.

Residents can contact Susan Farag at Susan.Farag@montgomerycountymd.gov for more information about the forum.
