Montgomery Co. Sidewalks To Undergo Construction

Starting in October, new sidewalks will be constructed in Rockville to improve pedestrian safety.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Four roadways in the Rockville area will undergo sidewalk construction in October.

City officials announced this week that new 5-foot-wide sidewalks would be constructed as part of a larger effort to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility.

No trees will be removed as a result of the construction project, and each new sidewalk will be built on right-of-way sections.

Residents impacted by the temporary driveway closures will receive a 72-hour notice before they take effect, whereas adjacent neighbors will be given notice at least two weeks prior.

The construction will take place on the following four roadways:
