New MARC Service to Provide Direct Montgomery County-Baltimore Connection (wfmd.com) β Rockville commuters will soon get a faster, one-seat MARC ride to Baltimore starting September 28, eliminating the usual transfer at Union Station. The new weekday train links Rockville with other Montgomery County stops and Baltimore Camden Station, cutting some trips by nearly an hour and prompting schedule changes that riders should review in advance.

Angelo's to Open in Olney, Debut New Concept in Gaithersburg (mocoshow.com) β Rockville diners may soon see their hometown Angelo's brand expanding, as the Norbeck Road-based pizzeria readies new locations in Olney and Gaithersburg. The Olney spot will be a full-service Italian restaurant with a bar, while the Gaithersburg shop will test a build-your-own pizza and pasta concept designed as the model for future Montgomery County franchises.

Pepco says it's restored power to 90% of Md., DC customers who went dark in damaging storms (wtop.com) β Pepco says it has restored power to about 90% of customers after Thursday's severe storms, with leaders briefing media from the Rockville service center. Crews are still tackling hard-hit areas with downed trees and poles, while residents are urged to avoid downed lines, use generators safely, and seek cooler places if their homes remain without electricity.
