2 Rounds Of Water Shutoffs Scheduled For Montgomery County This Month

ROCKVILLE, MD — Residents in Rockville will see two rounds of water shutoffs for September as officials look to wrap up service improvements in the area.

The City of Rockville said in a release that the first shutoffs were planned for dozens of residential addresses along Halpine Road and Halpine Walk Court.

Water services will be cut off Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a Sept. 18 marked as a possible rain date. The same hours would apply for the makeup date.

The impacted addresses include the following:

• Halpine Road: 5901, 5903, 5905, 5907, 5909, 5911, 5913, 5915, 5916, 5917, 5918, 5919, 5920, 5921, 5922, 5923, 5924, 5925, 5926, 5928, 5930, 5932, 5934, 5936, 5938, 5940, 5942, 5944
• Halpine Walk Court: 202-217, 219, 221

The second round of shutoffs takes place nearly two weeks later, on Sept. 29 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Residents living near Henderson Circle, between 550 and 545 Bealle Ave., will be impacted.

If needed, a rain date for the second shutoff will be Sept. 30.

"Residents may notice discolored water or air in the lines following the shutdown. Running cold water for a few minutes usually clears any discoloration," reads a city release.

"To remove air from the system, open a faucet on the top floor for one minute, then open other faucets one at a time from the highest floor to the lowest.
