ROCKVILLE, MD — A fresh round of water shutoffs will take place in October as authorities look to make service improvements in the Rockville community.
The City of Rockville announced Thursday that planned shutoffs will occur Oct. 20 and run between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. along Beall Avenue and Owens Street at the following addresses:
Residents are warned that water could be temporarily discolored following the shutoff, with officials noting that faucets should be opened for a few minutes to clear the coloring.
Faucets should also be opened, starting from the highest to the lowest floor, to remove any air from the system.
While water quality issues should resolve within 24 hours, concerned residents can also report complications to the city's Operations Maintenance Division at (240) 314-8567.
The latest comes after the city carried out a shutoff in the area late last month.
A planned makeup date in the event of inclement weather is bookmarked for Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
