ROCKVILLE, MD — Water shutoffs that were originally planned for early September will now take place the last week of October, city officials announced Thursday.
The latest update issued by the City of Rockville states residents living along Halpine Road and Halpine Walk Court will see service cut off on Oct. 26.
The Monday shutoff will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a potential reschedule date set for Tuesday. The same hours will apply.
Impacted residences include:
"Residents may notice discolored water or air in the lines following the shutdown. Running cold water for a few minutes usually clears any discoloration," reads a city release.
"To remove air from the system, open a faucet on the top floor for one minute, then open other faucets one at a time from the highest floor to the lowest.
Officials say water service issues should be resolved in 24 hours.
Residents with questions about the planned service shutoff are urged to contact senior construction inspector Evan Shaw at (240) 314-8548.
