Attempted Murder Charge Filed In Rockville Town Square Shooting
Police charged a 23-year-old man with first degree attempted murder for shooting that occurred Friday morning at Rockville Town Square.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Rockville City police detectives charged 23-year-old Najee Emani Hardy-Estwick of an unidentified address with attempted first-degree murder in connection with an early morning shooting Friday near Rockville Town Square, according to a police release.
Officers responded around 1:45 a.m., for the report of a fight in progress in the 100 block of Gibbs Street, according to the release. The call for service was updated to a shooting.
Police found a man suffering from three gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he continues to recover from non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Hardy-Estwick and the victim knew each other and that an argument had escalated into a fight. During the altercation, police say Hardy-Estwick pulled out a handgun and shot the victim several times before fleeing the scene.
On Tuesday, detectives arrested Hardy-Estwick and charged him with attempted first-degree murder, first degree assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm, and other firearm related offenses, according to police. He is currently being held in the Central Processing Unit.
