Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested After Officer Recognizes Him in Surveillance Images
The case was solved swiftly after bank robberies Thursday in Silver Spring and Saturday in Rockville.

Montgomery County detectives made quick work of tracking down a bank robbery suspect after two robberies last week.
Tony Linn Smith, 55, of an unconfirmed address, was arrested Monday after a police officer recognized him in surveillance images released following the second theft Saturday in Rock Hill.
Smith is charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of theft from $1,000 to under $10,000. He is currently being held without bond.

The robbery Thursday occurred at 9:25 am. at the SunTrust Bank at 8700 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. A man reportedly approached a teller and passed a note demanding money and implying he had a gun. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.
On Saturday, at approximately 10:55 a.m., a man walked into the M&T Bank at 51 West Edmonston Drive in Rockville. A man approached a teller and passed a note demanding money and implying he had a gun. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.
